As the warm weather slowly unleashes it's grasp on Orange County and we fade nicely into fall, I can't help but think back on summer, and all the places we've been. 

Even if it is right down the street from us. 

This was taken at the Orange Street Fair over Labor Day weekend.

11.6.09: Muzeo and Napoleon

The Muzeo (museum) in Anaheim recently had a great exhibit about Napoleon. And I loved how they added his image to this window in the building. It was if he was looking out and deciding which part of Orange County he wanted to conquer next.

11.4.09 Goldenrod Footbridge

 

The Goldenrod Footbridge in Corona del Mar is one of my favorite places in Orange County.  There is something special about walking across its narrow path toward the beach.   It's a little OC treasure.

Strawberry Farms Golf Course in Irvine is my firm's virtual office - where we hold weekly team meetings and meet with clients & colleagues. It's a beautiful venue - the food is good and the staff is friendly & attentive.

I love the beaches in southern Cali in the winter. On a weekday, they're virtually deserted.

10.30.09: Old school market

In Placentia, there is a fascinating little strip mall, anchored by this timeless Bargain Basket Market. I am astonished (and happy) that the original signage is still holding up as good as ever, and by the looks of the packed parking lot, business is doing well. Look closely, at the front of the store is a quarter merry-go-round ride as well. I wonder if they have 1953 prices inside as well. Sometimes time travel is easier than you think.

The Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa in Huntington Beach is a gorgeous hotel that has a fantastic beach view of HB. Who knew the view at night could be equally as stunning?

Nighttime at the Pond

OK, so it's no longer The Pond..... but it's still my neighborhood, and one of the simple pleasures of living near both the Honda Center and Angel Stadium is the opportunity to visit the facilities in the off-hours. Large, empty structures such as arenas & stadiums seem to exert a latent energy....

This is a HDR composite shot I recently took.

10.26.09 South Coast Farms

South Coast Farms in San Juan Capistrano is the only remaining organic farm in Orange County. It was also home to Orange County's first walnut grove in the 1880's. Visit The Ecology Center to learn more about the farms and sustainability.
