They are called Garnachas, a lightly fried tortilla topped with a chipotle sauce, mashed potatoes, and cheese. They taste fabulous, and can be found at this tiny stand, made by this guy, at the Fullerton Farmer's Market, held every Thursday evening during the summer.
I went over to Newport Beach one day to walk around and snap photos. There was a man standing on a corner talking to another man...who was on a Segway. It was perfect. (Sorry, no pic of the Segway guy. But here's a frozen banana stand.)
Every Saturday night durning the summer the St. Regis Resort in Monarch Beach holds a Butterfly Release Ritual out on their balcony overlooking the ocean. I wrote about it for my blog at The OC Register.
I snapped this photo right before the gloved-man lifted the lid and let the majestic Monarchs fly away. It was just breathtaking.
