Newport Beach from the air...
A visual demonstration of premium beach front real estate value here in OC. "If there is a sliver of sand, they will build on it"...and sell it for millions of dollars as well.

Great shot. But kind of sobering to me at the same time. There's something just absolutely awe inspiring about a beach and ocean view unmarred by anything man made. I am a true freak about the beach/ocean. I think this is probably why I fell so hard for NC's coast. To walk for miles without seeing a house or a human, picking up shells I only saw in books as a kid, is incredible.

I agree Elaina. When I see vintage photos of the OC's beachs...before ALL the houses and land grab it makes me wonder how amazing it must have been....And while my husband yearly makes the push for us to relocate to a beach home, I always say it is too....well, CROWDED. I need my elbow room....

Er... that's Lido isle. Balboa Peninsula runs from top to bottom along the left, but Balboa Island does not appear in this shot at all.
Still spectacular, but you would do well to accurately identify the subjects of your photos.

I was struck by the little fringe of boats along all the inshore watersides.
