Catch-ing The Grove

 

The Catch in Anaheim has finally reopened, and it is rapidly becoming my preferred "third place". This is a view of The Grove from the bar at The Catch. Sure to be a fave pre/post-game site for Ducks fans, right Suz?

Nighttime at the Pond

OK, so it's no longer The Pond..... but it's still my neighborhood, and one of the simple pleasures of living near both the Honda Center and Angel Stadium is the opportunity to visit the facilities in the off-hours. Large, empty structures such as arenas & stadiums seem to exert a latent energy....

9.29.09 The Anaheim Ducks season almost begins

The Anaheim Ducks season begins on Saturday at the Honda Center when they face their Northern California rivals The San Jose Sharks. This photo of Teemue Selanne, Saku Koivu and Brendan Mikkelson was taken during warm-ups in a preseason game against the the Sharks at The Honda Center. Let's hope Saturday has the same winning results in store for our Ducks.

August 2, 2009: Shoot 4 the Cure

The second annual Shoot 4 the Cure was held at The Rinks in Hungtington Beach this last Saturday. Orange County kids participated in hockey skill competitions and got to meet some of the players from the Anaheim Ducks (Bobby Ryan, Andrew Ebbett, Mike Brown and James Wisniewski). 

My daughter Emily even got suited-up and in goal just for fun, but I think she looks fierce. Please note pink skirt. All the proceeds went to CHOC's Oncology Floor and The Anaheim Ducks Foundation, Inc, to help fight childhood cancers.
