one of my favorite sights at disneyland - the daily flag retreat ceremony. it is beautiful to see busy families slow down and take in the spectacle. with reverence and patriotism all around, i think the retreat ceremony could stir even the most cynical heart. happy new year to all, especially our troops overseas, wherever they may be and what ever job they hold.
there is nothing like christmas at the magic kingdom!

As we approach the ten year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks in NY, I imagine we'll be seeing more displays of patriotism like this one,this weekend. Taken at Angel Stadium before the Angels and Yankees played last night, during their salute to service men and women.
I have to say, I'm having a lot of fun with the camera in my new phone. It's replaced the point and shoot I carry with me sometimes. This was taken around the 4th inning a couple weeks ago. The Angels won and a good time was had by all!

I'm breaking my "only in Orange" rule this week by heading over to Anaheim to check out my first Angel game of the year! It was a great game as the Halos beat up on the Atlanta Braves 8-0 and we got to hang out with some good friends as well!
The official practice rink of The Ducks is also the official practice rink of my 10 yr old's travel team.
