09.01.10 OC Foodie Fest

The OC Foodie Fest rolled into the Honda Center on Saturday.  Over 50 Food Trucks from OC and Los Angeles dished out gourmet cuisine and some adventures fare to over 8,500 eager and hungry participants.

7.3.2010 Angel Stadium

Not a bad evening for a baseball game.  It would have been better if the Angels had won, but, you can't win them all.

4.24.10 Go Halos!

Go Halos!  Taken during the second game of the year.  A game, in which the Angels lost, and the fans set a new world record for people at a sporting event wearing a Snuggie!  I always wanted to get in the Guinness book or records!

03.31.10 Ruby's Carhop in Anaheim

An Orange County original, Ruby's Diner, opened it's first carhop in Anaheim on Monday. The new Ruby's in located in the renovated 5 Points Building in the historic district of Anaheim.

3.8.10 OC Music Awards

The OC Music Awards were this Saturday, and included performances by a number of local bands- The Steelwells, Dusty Rhodes & the River Band, Lit, and more. The night was hosted by Psycho Mike of KROQ, and an Orange County impact Award was given to Sugar Ray. Of the awards given, Best album went to Thrice, Best Song and Best New Band to The Steelwells, Best Indie to The New Limb, and Best Surf to The Growlers.

The OC Music Awards are held annually at The Grove in Anaheim.

Catch-ing The Grove

 

The Catch in Anaheim has finally reopened, and it is rapidly becoming my preferred "third place". This is a view of The Grove from the bar at The Catch. Sure to be a fave pre/post-game site for Ducks fans, right Suz?

1.18.10 California Adventure Renovation

I took this a couple months ago to document the construction at Disney's California Adventure park. They completely drained the lake to begin work on a new water show. I didn't known at the time that the big orange with it's swing ride inside would soon meet its end. RIP Orange.

12.30.09 Disney on Ice at The Honda Center

  Disney on Ice performed at The Honda Center last week. The Fairies story debuted for the first time and as you would expect, the girls went wild for it.

12.25.09: Country Livin'

A nice rural cabin next to still cool water. Geese fly over head in the blue sky, while the leaves on the trees flicker in the breeze.

I have a feeling this is what Walt wanted us to see when we visited Disneyland.

And it is still there.

Catch Me If You Can.....

 

The Catch has been an Anaheim mainstay for quite a number of years....and when I first moved into the neighborhood, I looked forward to becoming a regular there.

Alas, the A-Town development project dislocated this establishment shortly after I moved in - but it's about to re-open right across the street from my Stadium Lofts location.... can't wait.....
