I've been haunting the Balboa Island neighborhoods the past few weeks on a photo assignment, and have had to apply my urban survival skills versus the apparent infestation of Yorkshire Terriers. Note that there's none seen surviving in this image...

Sunday morning, 5:30am at the Starting Line of the Orange County Marathon. 

The mind's eye always plays tricks with the moon, having us believe it's far larger than it actually is. Ever notice how much larger the moon appears when close to the horizon?

A walk by the ocean has always been a means of personal retreat & contemplation. Looks like I wasn't alone this weekend.

Old Couple

I was walking along Newport Beach and saw these two beach cruisers sitting locked to a pole. They appeared to be an old couple embracing. A couple who have spent their lives at the beach, a little worn, but still very much in love.

Quite a week for weather in Orange County! Ventured down to the Newport Beach Pier area and was lucky enough to catch a break in weather and get some picture taking in.

I've never been inside this building as it always seems empty whenever I walk by.  But the Art Deco facade, and steel doors have always intrigued me.  This is down near the Balboa Fun Zone.

This shot is actually 6 separate shots stitched back together in Photoshop to create a panoramic effect.

Bigger waves are rolling in this weekend again, and the weather is a near summer like 75 degrees!  This was from the same series I posted a couple weeks ago.
