12.1.11 What's Cookin?

Lately I've been mixing my love of photography with my love for cooking. This is an acorn squash stuffed with quinoa and chopped spinach, and a side "salad" of avocado and pear topped with goat milk feta and raspberry dressing.

The Tracy Dee Academy of Dance in Placentia is currently putting on their annual holiday show. I snapped this of the youth company while performing.

I was helping my daughter with a school project recently. She had to go around our town and photograph designated points of interest. Valencia High School was one such point of interest. I held the camera and helped her with settings and frame the shot, she pressed the shutter.

One of the things I enjoy most about the Placentia area are the historic farm houses from the days of orange farming that have been turned into museums. One such place is Key Ranch on Yorba Linda Blvd a just west of Placentia Blvd. The old farming equipment that keep on display in various forms of restored condition have always been a fascination for me.

Puddle Sailing

After Sunday night's rain, I took the kids to Tri City Park in Placentia Monday afternoon. This leaf, "sailing" on a remaining rain puddle caught my eye.

With Basketball season coming to a close, I thought it fitting to find this lonely hoop sitting in the darkness of the late afternoon in Tynes Gymnasium in Placentia.
