This mural is outside The Bower's Kidseum in Santa Ana.  My kids and I stood there for a long time spotting little artifacts and placing them geographically. Do you see Mickey?

11.02.10 The Great Park Balloon

I just love the Great Park Balloon. The photo potentials are endless, but I also like the moxie of it.  I like that The Great Park implemented it first, in the very beginning stages of the park.  I like that we don't *need* it.  I like that it's there to make me smile. 

If you haven't been up in it yet, make a point to go.

10.20.10 The CHOC Walk in the Park at Disneyland

The 20th annual CHOC Walk in the Park raised 2 million buck for Children's Hospital of Orange County.  The 5K walk had over 700 teams that pushed the total walkers to a record 14,000 people.

10.13.10 Balboa Village Market torn down

The Balboa Village Market was torn down yesterday to make room for a parking lot. Set in the middle of one of my favorite places in Orange County--The Balboa Peninsula --it was a beautiful old building with these great murals on the side and back.  

So sad.  It reminds me of when they leveled The Golden Bear back in 1986.  I hate to see these pieces of our history go away for parking lots, chain restaurants and condos. It's just so shortsighted. I'm glad  at least have these photos.
