1.07.11 The Bowling Wall

There is an old bowling alley in the middle of Yorba Linda, that has been there since I was a child. The interior is exactly as it has always been for 35 years, but recently the outside wall got this very impressive mural. I adore it, and plan to take my boys there for some portrait sessions....but first I have to find them some retro bowling shirts to wear.

Drains to Ocean

I was out riding my beach cruiser along the Yorba Linda stretch of the Santa Ana River bike trail last weekend with my camera shooting for an upcoming art show titled "Drains to Ocean". I came upon this remarkably huge grated cover to one of the drainage tunnels coming out of the hills of Yorba Linda where the fires were last year. This is the detail (from above) of the hinge bolts, with the moss-covered chain laying straight out on the ground. Apparently there had been quite a bit of water from last week's rain as the heavy chain was stretched straight out just as it is here.

12.18.09: Fog Fantasy

We don't get a lot of weather here in Orange County.

So when I awoke one morning to this extreme fog...I smiled. I was surprised the news didn't blow it out of proportion and start a segment called 'FogWatch 09'.

While taking an easy hike in a dry-lake bed a splash of white caught my eye in the bushes. I peeked in cautiously, not knowing if anyone was home.
